BENTONVILLE — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the grand opening of the new UAMS Health Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic in Bentonville.

The event marked the expansion of UAMS Health’s comprehensive musculoskeletal care in Northwest Arkansas, offering advanced orthopaedic and rehabilitation services closer to where patients live, work and play.

The facility, located in the Blume building at 609 SW Eighth St., brings world-class orthopaedic and sports medicine expertise to the Bentonville community, supporting patients of all ages and activity levels. Whether people are wanting to get back to sports or hobbies, manage chronic pain, heal from an injury or simply stay active with family and daily life, the new location’s fellowship-trained specialists are dedicated to helping patients regain strength, motion and quality of life.

“UAMS is committed to providing high-quality medical care to patients in all parts of the state,” said C. Lowry Barnes, M.D., UAMS interim chancellor and chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation. “When we established our UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville in 2007, we made a promise to support the growth in this vibrant region. This new facility is part of the fulfillment of that promise.”

The location features a full range of nonsurgical treatments delivered by expert physicians, as well as coordinated physical and occupational therapy services for those patients with rehabilitation needs. UAMS providers treat a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, sports and nonsports injuries, and orthopaedic issues involving the knee, shoulder, elbow, hand, spine and joint replacement care. The new Bentonville location also offers in-clinic procedures such as corticosteroid injections, trigger point injections, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections and diagnostic ultrasound.

From a facility standpoint, the Bentonville location is one of the most comprehensive orthopaedic facilities in the region. It spans 18,000 square feet and has 28 patient rooms, paired with 5,800 square feet of on-site physical therapy, allowing patients to move seamlessly from diagnosis to treatment to rehabilitation under one roof.

“We are thrilled to expand our footprint in Northwest Arkansas with this new location,” said Ryan Cork, MSHA, vice chancellor of the UAMS Northwest Region. “Our goal is to make exceptional orthopaedic and sports medicine care easily accessible for our neighbors in Bentonville and the surrounding communities, helping patients recover and return to the activities they love.”

UAMS Health’s orthopaedic and sports medicine team includes fellowship-trained surgeons, primary care sports medicine doctors and certified therapy specialists who work collaboratively to tailor care plans around each patient’s unique needs.

“As we continue to add specialty trained orthopaedic surgeons and primary care sports medicine physicians, we are growing our ability to provide world-class care in Northwest Arkansas,” said Wesley Cox., M.D., UAMS orthopaedics & sports medicine section chief in Northwest Arkansas. “This new home in Bentonville, gives us much needed space to expand every musculoskeletal specialty even beyond orthopaedics, including our physical therapy, sports performance, sports chiropractic, occupational and hand therapy, and athletic training. With this facility, we are better able to meet the needs of Northwest Arkansas.”

UAMS Health’s Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine program is one of the state’s largest and most respected musculoskeletal care providers, offering personalized treatment options that emphasize recovery and long-term wellness. The program serves patients across Northwest Arkansas through conveniently located clinics in Fayetteville and Bentonville as well as a pediatric clinic at Arkansas Children’s Northwest in Springdale.
