Harrison - North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) is proud to announce the expansion of its Pediatric Sensory Gym, part of NARMC’s Therapy Services. This project was designed to enhance therapy services and better support children’s growth and development. The expansion was carefully shaped by the expertise of NARMC’s Therapy Services team, including speech, occupational, and physical therapists, along with therapy assistants and support staff, whose hands-on experience informed the vision for the space. That vision was then brought to life in partnership with NARMC’s Construction Team, resulting in an environment intentionally designed to support therapeutic progress, encourage play, and help children thrive.
The expansion creates a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where children can benefit from evidence-based therapies. Through this project, NARMC’s Therapy Services is expanding its ability to provide individualized, family-centered care, recognizing that every child’s journey is unique. With multiple therapy disciplines housed under one roof, families also benefit from strong interdisciplinary collaboration, where speech, occupational, and physical therapists work together to coordinate care.
This level of teamwork ensures that children receiving more than one type of therapy experience consistent support, which can make a meaningful difference in their progress.
The Pediatric Sensory Gym expansion would not have been possible without the generosity of the Kiwanis Club of Harrison. Their donation, the most significant monetary contribution to the project, provided the essential support that made this expansion possible and served as the catalyst for additional support from the North Arkansas Medical Foundation, Merry Bee Murals, Estes Ace Hardware, and Miller True Value Hardware.
“This project is such a powerful example of what can happen when people come together,” said Sammie Cribbs Roberson, President and CEO of NARMC. “From the collaboration from our internal teams to the outpouring of support from our community members and partners, I’m so grateful for everyone who played a role in making this possible. Thank you for investing in the future: our children.”
By investing in this specialized space, NARMC is not only responding to community needs but also reaffirming its commitment to delivering high-quality, comprehensive care for children and families throughout north central Arkansas.
