LITTLE ROCK – CARTI has announced Kristopher P. Magnuson, M.D. as director of anesthesia for its new on-site surgery center. Along with Magnuson, the facility is expected to create 80 new jobs, bringing CARTI’s total employment to more than 950.

“We understand patients and their families often experience anxiety and unease about the prospect of surgery during their cancer journeys,” said CARTI president and CEO Adam Head. “With Dr. Magnuson’s experience, calm demeanor and steady leadership skills, he will be an asset to the CARTI Surgery Center, both in and out of the operating room.”

Before joining CARTI, Magnuson worked at Southern Regional Anesthesia Consultants and for the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, he completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He holds a medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and a bachelor’s degree from John Brown University.
