JONESBORO – Jeremy Cohen, D.O. has joined the medical staff at St. Bernards Medical Center, specializing in emergency medicine. Dr. Cohen continues practicing at St. Bernards after completing a Family Medicine Residency with UAMS Northeast, making rotations throughout the hospital as a resident physician.

A native of Jonesboro, Dr. Cohen earned his doctorate of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) in 2020 from NYITCOM at Arkansas State as a member of the campus’s inaugural graduating class. Prior to medical school, he graduated from Crowley’s Ridge Academy in Paragould and Harding University in Searcy, majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology.

During his time at Harding, Dr. Cohen also worked in the St. Bernards Emergency Department as a patient care technician. He said that experience sparked an interest in emergency care.

“From getting a patient’s vital signs to even performing chest compressions during code situations, I learned how to care for people in a fast-paced environment,” Dr. Cohen said. “I’ve wanted to be in medicine for as long as I can remember, and I’m excited to return to where it all began.”

Dr. Cohen’s family has a history of service at St. Bernards. His father, Dr. Jeffrey Cohen, works in pulmonology at St. Bernards Clopton Clinic. Meanwhile, his grandfather, the late Dr. Robert Cohen, also practiced at St. Bernards. Finally, Dr. Cohen’s wife, Rachel, works as an acute care nurse practitioner with St. Bernards Heart & Vascular.

Dr. Cohen holds board certification in Family Medicine and professional memberships with the American College of Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association and the Arkansas Medical Society. In his spare time, he enjoys boxing, barbecuing, cooking and most of all, spending time with Rachel, and their twin sons, Jackson and Lane.
