Washington Regional Announces Executive Leadership Promotions

Fayetteville — Washington Regional has announced the promotion of three experienced
leaders to key executive roles, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to operational
excellence, high-quality patient care, and long-term growth. 

 

Cindy Jo Allen, MBA, BSN, RN, has been promoted from Vice President and Assistant Chief
Operating Officer to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Allen will
oversee day-to-day operations across the organization, ensuring efficient, high-quality care
delivery and continued support for clinical teams. Allen has more than 18 years of experience in the health care industry in nursing leadership, process improvement, and hospital administration.

 

Rebecca Cowie, RN, APRN, ACNS-BC, has been promoted from Assistant Chief Nursing Officer to Chief Nursing Officer. Since joining Washington Regional in 2012 as a clinical nurse specialist for critical care and emergency department units, Cowie has been steadfast in leading teams across a variety of specialties. Cowie was instrumental in developing the Stroke Program at Washington Regional, which is the only hospital in the state to hold Joint Commission Advanced Certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. She has served as a Director of Critical Care, Neuro Progressive, and Neurosurgical ICU.

 

Tom Olmstead, who has served as General Counsel for Washington Regional since 2000, has
been promoted from Senior Vice President and General Counsel to Executive Vice President,
Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. In his expanded role, Olmstead will be
responsible for Washington Regional’s legal function and services, near and long term strategic planning, operational alignment, human resources, risk management and governance functions.
