JONESBORO – St. Bernards Healthcare announced the opening of its new Longevity Center on Thursday, focusing on preventive, team-based medicine that helps patients live healthy and disease free.

Led by Barry C. Tedder, MD, FACC, FNLA, a board-certified lipid specialist with more than three decades of experience as an interventional cardiologist, the clinic provides personalized care that addresses the root causes of heart and metabolic problems.

At the Longevity Center, patients will have access to advanced testing, including detailed cholesterol analysis, cardiovascular imaging and genetic screening. The results help create tailored care plans that guide nutrition, exercise planning, medication management and coaching to support long-term health goals.

Dr. Tedder provided many of these services to his patients while working as a cardiologist. With the opening of the St. Bernards Longevity Center, however, new and established patients alike have access to expanded preventive medical services, meeting an important need for the region.

“For far too long, we’ve treated health problems rather than their causes,” Dr. Tedder said. “Through a proactive approach that looks at prevention of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, stroke and more, we can help people live longer, healthier lives by addressing each patient’s individual risk factors for disease. Ultimately, healthier individuals make healthier communities."

The Longevity Center team includes Dr. Tedder, Sarah Thomas, APRN, and health coach Leslie Wester, as well as experienced nurses, technicians and a clinical pharmacist. Together, they manage complex conditions such as a family history of high cholesterol, high triglycerides, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome.
