Baptist Health 55Plus Services honored 12 seniors at the fourth-annual Amazing Spirit Awards luncheon hosted by actor Larry Hagman, who portrayed J.R. Ewing on Dallas. The award recognizes seniors who serve as an inspiration by being active in their chosen careers or hobbies, or by taking an active role in their communities or families.

The winners of this year's Amazing Spirit awards included: Charlie Barkins, 83, of Little Rock; Phyllis Brown, 59, of Little Rock; Gail Ezelle, 72, of Hot Springs; John Fortenberry, 72, of Jacksonville; Mary Mae Morton Jones, 82, of Bentonville; David William Knight, 85, of Wilmar; Mildred Patterson, 82, of Pine Bluff ; Arkie Neil Remley, 89, of Malvern; Johnie Mae Siitonen, 82, of Des Arc; Patsy Thurman, 73, of Little Rock; Allan Ward, 71, of Little Rock; Thomas Watts, 80, of Camden.
